Do Dentures Improve Quality of Life?

Dental implants are dentures that are placed on top of artificial roots. A biocompatible implant (i.e., an artificial root) is surgically placed in the tooth at the site of the missing tooth, and after some time for the wound to heal, a denture is placed on the artificial root to restore the missing tooth.

The traditional dentures have no root support, so the full dentures and their bases ride on the gums, and rely on the absorption of oral saliva, and the gum mucosa is directly stressed; while some dentures with missing teeth are mostly attached to the adjacent ones. To support the teeth, the adjacent teeth need to be retained with a snap ring or cut adjacent teeth for brace retention, and the adjacent teeth are vulnerable to damage. Dental implants use the jawbone and the implant as support and retention because artificial tooth roots (ie implants) are implanted in the patient's jawbone.
Dental Implants Advantages
①Retention is good, which is firmer and more reliable than traditional dentures.
②The chewing efficiency is greatly improved compared with the traditional dentures, which are exactly like real teeth.
③Dental implants are beautiful and comfortable, have no foreign body sensation, and have little impact on pronunciation due to the small base of dentures, and the fully fixed implants even have no base.
In a two-month follow-up study of implant patients, a study showed that implant-retaining dentures improved oral health and improved quality of life compared to traditional mandibular dentures. Implants are cost-effective in replacing single and multiple teeth. In addition, implants used to replace multiple teeth can improve oral health and quality of life. These findings are logical when one considers the many benefits of implants.
