The Cautions of scan body usage:

The problem that the scanbody is difficult to scan, the most important thing is to expose the characteristic surface, like a metal scan body, its surface is easy to image after sandblasting, so how can we ensure that the characteristic surface faces to the buccal side? Or the lingual side, preferably to the buccal side, because the buccal side is easier to scan and image, then let's take a look, the bottom of scan body is actually a hexagonal screw, the hexagonal shape means it can be rotated at any free, when placing the scan body on the healing abutment, tighten the screws. Be careful to tighten them gently. The screw is just in place. At this time, it is best to take an X-ray film, and then scan. Sometimes we will encounter with two implants that are very close. If we turn the characteristic surface of the scanbody towards the buccal side, the mesial and distal parts of the characteristic surface are all exposed clearly. After put it in position, pull out the screwdriver. The 2 features face the buccal side, which is easy to scan, It mainly need to place the scanbody in right place. And the scanning process become more easier and fast.

The Effects of Scanbody Delamination

Usually, Each implant company will have a corresponding scanbody database for data matching, and each scan body has a corresponding characteristic surface and top platform. If the scan body is layered, when the data is matched in the design software, it will happen that the scan body cannot match the implant database.

Main Causes of Scan body Delamination

When scanning the lingual side of the scanbody, it can’t scan to the top part of the scanbody, so that the position data at the junction between the top of the scanbody and the lingual side is lost when scanning the top of the scanbody, so delamination occurs.

How to fix the delamination issues

1. If the scan body is delaminated in a small area, you can repeat scan the scan body area 2-3 times to automatically optimize it.

2. If the scanbody is delaminated in a large area, the scanbody part should be re-scanned according to the correct scanning path.
