Precautions After Implantation

1. If there is a hemostatic gauze or hemostatic cotton ball in the operation area, take it out after 30 minutes of pressure.

2. You can eat after the effect of anesthesia fades (about 2-3 hours). On the day of surgery, you can eat cool soft food or semi-liquid food. Avoid chewing on the affected side. Do not smoke or drink for 2 weeks after surgery.

3. Routinely use antibiotics and take analgesics when necessary.

4. There may be slight swelling and pain after the operation. If you have obvious discomfort, you need to return to the doctor in time.

5. Local cold compresses can be used within 24 hours after the operation to reduce exudate and relieve pain. Do not continue to apply ice to avoid local frostbite. If there is a local compression bandage, please remove it by yourself 24-48 hours after the operation.

6. Talk less after the operation, avoid licking the wound with your tongue, do not rinse your mouth or brush your teeth for 24 hours, so as not to irritate the wound and cause bleeding. The saliva in the mouth on the day of surgery may be slightly red and bloodshot, which is a normal phenomenon. If the wound continues to ooze blood, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment immediately.

7. Start to use mouthwash 24 hours after the operation, rinse your mouth in time after meals, and rinse with saliva several times a day to maintain oral hygiene and reduce the chance of infection. After meals, use a soft-bristled toothbrush or cotton swab to clean food residue and plaque around the surgical area.

8. Within 1-2 days after implantation in the posterior maxillary region, bloodshot nose is a normal phenomenon. Avoid forcefully blowing your nose and sneezing, and use nasal drops according to the doctor's advice after surgery. If surgery on the maxillary sinus is involved, please be careful not to blow your nose or sneeze.

9. Do not press the operation area if bone grafting is performed in the operation area

10. Within 3-4 days after the operation, there may be a certain degree of pain and swelling in the operation area, which is a normal phenomenon. Anti-inflammation and swelling should be given according to the doctor's advice. If there is persistent severe pain in the operation area or the wound is red and swollen, pus overflows, please contact the doctor in time.

11. Pay attention to rest after surgery and avoid strenuous exercise and fatigue.

12. Follow-up on time after surgery. Generally, sutures are removed in 7-10 days for wounds, and stitches are removed in 10-14 days for bone graft surgery wounds.

13. Follow-up visit 3-6 months after surgery, make an appointment for follow-up visit in advance.

14. If you need to wear a temporary restoration, please follow the doctor's advice.
