What is the Temporary Abutment Implant?

The Temporary Abutment Implant assists in the healing, formation and maintenance of the soft tissue cuff around the implant. In the one-stage technique, a temporary abutment is inserted into the implant's internal diameter and is used to form the gingival cuff during the osseointegration of the implant. Alternatively, in the two-stage technique, the dentist exposes the implant and replaces the permanent abutment with a temporary abutment, which is then removed and replaced with a permanent abutment after the soft tissue has matured.

The Temporary Abutment Implant is used to form a tissue cuff for a period of time (usually 1-2 weeks) after the second stage of surgery. The Temporary Abutment Implant is made of pure titanium, has an integral screw and abutment, and can be used repeatedly.

Sterility

Each temporary abutment implant and Cylinders are packaged NON-STERILE. Prior to use in the oral environment, they should be cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized according to an FDA-recognized sterility assurance standard such as ANSI/AAMI ST79.
