Final Abutment

Final Abutment, also known as preformed abutment, is a mass-produced abutment that is processed directly by the implant company. There are various types of finished abutments, including solid abutments, split abutments, angled abutments, malleable abutments, and composite abutments. Numerous studies have shown that finished abutments have excellent mechanical properties, and because they are designed and processed for the implant manufacturer, they have a better fit at the implant-abutment interface, preventing microleakage and enhancing the fracture strength of the abutment. However, the diameter and gingival contour of the finished abutment are prefabricated and difficult to match to each patient, which is not sufficient to meet the requirements of clinical aesthetic restoration.
