multi unit angled abutment is mainly divided into the straight multi unit abutment and angled abutment according to the long axis of implant and the abutment. because it can obtain a common placement path for adjacent implants within a certain angle tolerance range, it is mostly suitable for multi-unit pontics restoration. In addition, the multi unit abutment can also be used to improve the placement platform of the restoration. Although there are many types of prefabricated abutments that can meet a variety of clinical needs and they are all cost-effective, their limitations are also obvious.The gingival height and contour of the prefabricated abutment are difficult to fit to the soft tissue around the patient's edentulous area. The fixed height and width of the prefabricated abutment also limit its application when the inter-jaw distance or the mesiodistal distance is abnormal.

multi unit angled abutment refers to an angle caused between the abutment and the longitudinal axis of the implant. The angle can be changed within 30°. When the implant has been implanted, its direction and relationship with adjacent tissues are not complete meet the original design, angle abutments can fix it. The itro study has proved that when the pressure and tension of the abutment increase, the force around the implant also increases. However, through 3 years of clinical observation, Balshi found that the angle abutment did not increase the adverse reactions and problems of the mucosa around the implant. its success rate is equivalent to the standard abutment.
