Astra healing abutments is necessary as an adapter, the link connecting the implant, integrated into the jawbone with upper visible part of the dental prosthesis. The healing abutment, which is known as the cap is placed on the top of the implant after integration in order to form the aesthetic and natural gums. The healing abutment is a titanium cylinder with hypoallergenic properties and it can be of different sizes depending on the application conditions and goals.

The astra healing abutment placement can be done in one visit to the implant surgeon both during one-stage dental implant procedure or after the implant integration and in the two-stage procedure in 3-6 months, but in this case the excision of tissue is necessary as the implant is overgrown with soft tissue and the access is required. As a result, after the formation of the beautiful natural gingival line, the healing abutment is removed and next a permanent abutment is placed with the following prosthetics.
