The implant straumann healing cap is used to seal off the implant space and prevent bacteria outside.  The implant is implanted into the alveolar bone, before the abutment mounted in, The healing cap needs to be placed on the implant to avoid wound inflammation during the waiting period. and it also need to Pay attention to oral cleaning after operation, and don't eat too hard solid food.

The healing cap is an accessory that is directly inserted into the implant after implantation. When suspended into the healing cap, the top of the healing cap is even with the top of the implant, which only serves to close the space of the implant. The healing abutment is suspended from the implant. Before screwing into the healing abutment, the healing cap is removed and suspended. After the healing abutment is suspended, the healing abutment is at gum height. The purpose of the healing abutment is to form a gum cuff, similar to the shape of the denture that will be made in the future, so that the denture and the gum have a good tight bond, preventing bacteria from entering the periodontal pocket or peri-implant inflammation. So there is a difference between the healing cap and the healing abutment. The healing abutment is suspended while the implant is implanted, while the healing abutment may be suspended in two steps at the same time, and the healing abutment may be suspended in three steps after the second stage incision.
